In Vietnam, Generative AI (GenAI) is becoming a key driver of growth and a catalyst for the expansion of the digital economy.
Reports show that AI adoption among Vietnamese businesses rose by 39% year-on-year in 2025, underscoring its increasing importance in improving operational efficiency, stimulating innovation, and strengthening competitive advantage.
During a recent press briefing on the state of Generative AI adoption and its advantages for Vietnamese businesses, including technology developments and the outlook for 2026, Eric Yeo, General Director of AWS Vietnam, noted that the GenAI trend is accelerating across industries and organisations of all sizes.
According to Yeo, about 61% of Vietnamese companies using AI expect revenue growth due to improved operational performance, while 58% foresee substantial cost reductions, Vn Economy reports.
“This demonstrates that GenAI has become a primary driver in business operations and a vital support system for Vietnamese enterprises,” he said.
Regarding the adoption of AI across sectors in Vietnam, Yeo highlighted that finance and insurance are among the earliest adopters and the fastest-growing industries.
At the same time, manufacturing companies, startups, content creators, designers, and game developers are also showing strong momentum in integrating AI into their work.
Furthermore, AWS Vietnam also referenced global data to demonstrate the accelerating pace of AI adoption. According to McKinsey, 78% of organisations worldwide are now using GenAI in at least one business function.
Meanwhile, IDC reports that in 2024, about 50% of these organisations successfully moved GenAI projects from the Proof of Concept stage into real production environments.
Additionally, a study by Deloitte found that 40% of organisations have already realised the anticipated productivity and efficiency improvements from the GenAI applications they have deployed.
These figures highlight the rapid pace of transformation and signal a major shift in the landscape of Generative AI and Agentic AI, as well as the concrete value these technologies are delivering to businesses and organisations today.
